  • Michael Templeman: Just having the location somewhere in the keyword will work. However, for local search results, always start with business listings, Google places and Google plus. Then go to keyword link building. You're gonna rank really well without the link building though.
  • Steven Ciccantelli: +Michael Templeman I have been reading some of your posts and my question might be related to AdWords. So if I start a campaign I guess you answered my concern with long tailed keywords and fraud.
So I guess I will read more of your posts and when I deal with AdWords I will be more informed to ask them questions so thank you.
I am going to try to put my city then the standard keyword and see how that goes.
  • CeS Inspections LLC: +Michael Templeman what do you mean start with business listing, google places and then Google plus? Im still trying to learn is why I asked.
  • Michael Templeman: +CeS Inspections LLC I mean that you will want to build a Google places page for the business. Make it as robust as possible. Then make a Google+ local page, again make it as robust as possible. Then sign up for as many business directories as possible. Yext does this last step for you. It costs like 500 bucks I think. But you can do it yourself. It just takes time. By doing this you will already start to rank in local results quite well.
