How to determine what my not provided keywords are.

Hi everyone. Im new to SEO & have a question about determining what my not provided KWs are. Ive noticed in the last 3 months NP keywords have jumped to 75% of organic search visits. What would be the best way to determine what those KWs are? Or atleast give us an idea of what they could be??

  • Primary Image Ltd: +Stephen Walters ;- sorry this isn't an answer directly to your question, but coincidently I've just this evening come across an interesting resource called 'notprovidedcount .com', which shows that the average "Not Provided" percentage across their monitored sites is currently around 80% now, so fairly similar to your 75%. Think our site has been more like 60% recently, but definitely increasing! Mike
  • Brent Wildman: Google made all searches private several months ago, soon "not provided" will be 100%. ;

    However there are several things you can do to regain some of that lost keyword data. Here is an excellent article on the subject: ;http://moz.com/blog/easing-the-pain-of-google-keyword-not-provided
  • Marty Eigner: Look at what your landing pages are.
  • Dave Elliott: google webmaster tools will give you some information and then yeah, check your landing pages and try and work out what they are optimised for to get a rough idea.
  • PK Group: Hi there, (not provided) keywords have caused havoc in the SEO community over the last year or so. You can't actually see the organic keywords people searched to find you anymore, but you can still get a rough idea. Try this;
    1) Log on to Google Analytics
    2) Go to the 'Acquisitions' tab on the left hand side of the page
    3) Click 'Channels' and then choose 'Organic Search'
    4) Click on the 'Secondary Dimension' drop down box located just above the keyword table
    5) Type 'Landing Page', and add as a secondary dimension.

    You should now be able to see the landing pages people landed on. Whilst this is not an exact science anymore, it still gives you a rough idea. Hope this helps!
