Dumb SEO Questions

(Entry was posted by Ajith Prasad Edassery on this post in the Dumb SEO Questions community on Facebook, 01/09/2014).

Should I disavow domain:blogspot.com?

Disavow: Has anyone tried disavowing the *.blogspot.com? If so, was there any damage in search traffic/rankings caused thereafter?

I have 90K plus blogspot links thanks to some blogger templates sponsorship in the past. I just did a disavow and keeping my fingers crossed. #seo #disavow #disavowtool #penguinupdate  ?

  • Jim Munro: Be careful with this, Ajith. Blogspot is canonicalised. Disavowing domain:blogspot.com will block every blog in every country that is on Blogspot.
  • Brent Wildman: And once disavowed you can't ever get it back.

  • Ajith Prasad Edassery: Thanks folks. I actually did a blanket disavow but reverted within a few hours. Among the prominent blogspot backlinks from the WMT reports, I am now disavowing 250+ of them.. Not very hopeful as close to 100000 bad backlinks are there :-(
