When you publish a blog post, how much consideration do you give to its lifespan?

Instead, combining quality long-form, long-term content with immediate, short-form content creates a comprehensive strategy balancing lots of continued interest with long-term investment interest.   When you publish a blog post, how much consideration do you give to its lifespan?

The attached image is the page views of a blog post published in May without any fanfare. No big splash, no huge shares to give it a viral curve, nothing out of the ordinary.

Some content makes a huge initial splash and falls off, some content never makes a splash but grows over time, and some, well, read on ;)
