Can too much tracking code on one page affect page load times?

Is it possible to track too many events in Google Analytics? We`re rolling out new forms and there are a ton of events that I would like to track, but I`m curious if too much tracking code on one page can affect page load times? ?

  • M Hookem: More means more time. I guess it's a test ground to see how badly it can affect your site, desktop &/or mobile?
    This is about the amount of requests from the servers and the response times. Perhaps treat it in a similar way to image requests for example?
  • SEO and Social Media for Attorneys: I suggest looking into the Google Tag feature. It provides a lot of the same benefits as tracking, but the way it loads does not cause a site to run slowly. It is my understanding that placing a lot of tracking codes does affect the performance of websites negatively and this is why Google introduced Tags.
