Dumb SEO Questions

What if a firm wants to target a specific city or a state?

HI,
Hope everyone`s doing great!
My question is regarding targeted SEO. If a company or firm wants to target US citizens only, I should be using country level TLD(.us), Right? Should the links be from US too for the link building?
And what if a firm wants to target a specific city or a state?

Any help will be much appreciated! ?

  • Johan Enblom: Hi! Yes, thats a good idea for TLD. When it comes to links you should strive for a naturally higher ratio of links from the most relevant market, which in this case would be US. For local focus I would look up this article for inspiration: searchenginewatch.com/article/2321848/4-Local-Search-Tactics-That-Will-Matter-More-in-2014
  • Jim Munro: Hi +Moeez Bin Hamid ;:)

You are welcome here but we discourage touting for business. I have removed the comment on the other thread where you asked for an email to be sent.

  • Moeez Bin Hamid: +Jim Munro ;my question relates touting? It is just a simple question, I am not selling or promoting anything here.
  • Moeez Bin Hamid: +Johan Enblom ;Thank you :)
  • Jim Munro: Hi +Moeez Bin Hamid ;:)

This question is fine, perfectly fine, but in another question in this community you asked for the URL to be emailed to you. We prefer answers to be peer-reviewed, so the best approach would have been to ask for the URL to be posted in that thread, not emailed to you. (Also, domain links should be requested as disabled like example(dot)com. Most people here know what that means. )

I apologise for the inconvenience to you. I regret the need to be pedantic but we want to keep our community tidy.
  • Moeez Bin Hamid: oh all right. I am sorry for that +Jim Munro ;:)
  • Jim Munro: Think nothing of it, +Moeez Bin Hamid, you are welcome here. :)
