  • Sajid Ali: My website is penalized by Google for a long time and still not recover even I have redesign it and optimize all On-page properly.. remove all unnatural links through Disavow.. but there is no positive response from Google.. Need help from SEO experts to get rid off my website from Google Penalty or Sandbox ..
  • Jim Munro: What is the url of your website, Sajid? Write it as mywebsite(dot)com
  • Daniel Sanchez: Yeah, site URL would be great, +Sajid Ali
  • Sajid Ali: +Jim Munro ; bestvpnservice(dot)com +Daniel Sanchez ;
  • Sajid Ali: Guide me what I do to get rid off from google penalty.. Its not showing on EMD 'best vpn service'
  • SKI USA INC: Have you sent a reconsideration request to Google?
    Because it is mandatory to send a reconsideration request after you disavow, with the gap of 1 week(approx).
  • Ajith Prasad Edassery: +SKI USA INC Do we need to send reconsideration request if it's not manual penalty?
  • Sajid Ali: +SKI USA INC yes have sent 2 times but still not solve.. Yesterday again sent Disavow and will send reconsideration.. but its not working.
  • Jim Munro: I am sorry but that is not accurate, +SKI USA INC ;. Not only is there no need to make a reconsideration request after uploading a disavow list, it is neither possible nor useful (even when it used to be possible) to make a reconsideration request for an algorithmic penalty.
  • Daniel Sanchez: +Ajith Prasad Edassery no, only for manual penalties.

    Fyi: any changes to a website algorithmically is not considered a penalty.
  • Daniel Sanchez: +SKI USA INC you don't have to wait a week. Many webmasters are lazy and don't try so Google decided to tell people to wait at least a week so that they actually try to get within Google's guidelines and not disavow a few links and submit a reconsideration with in the same day just to get denied to then disavow a few more and resubmit a reconsideration to get denied to disavow... etc.

    I've submitted a reconsideration with in 3 days of the notice and have had it removed.

    Just make sure you actually try to get into Google's guidelines before submitting.

    Also, you can disavow without a penalty and you don't have to submit a reconsideration request just because you disavow.
  • Sajid Ali: +Jim Munro +Daniel Sanchez Any other suggestion? What should I do now? I sent the Disavow file as mention in guidelines and waiting now.. what other steps I should take now?
  • Daniel Sanchez: +Sajid Ali it has taken me up to 4 weeks for a reconsideration request to get answered.
  • Daniel Sanchez: +Sajid Ali it's 3:00 am here, I'll check it out tomorrow morning and give you some insight from my part.
  • Jim Munro: What led you to believe you were hit by Penguin, +Sajid Ali ;? What date did you lose traffic and how much traffic did you lose?
  • Sajid Ali: +Daniel Sanchez ; Thanks for your help.. will wait your suggestions.. Good Night..
    +Jim Munro ; ; I am not sure that hid by Penguin or Panda... There were unnatural links issue which we have remove.. also duplication issue which solving now.. in between 2013 we lose traffic and it was in Thousands per day..
  • Jim Munro: Who said your links were unnatural? Did you receive a notification in GWMT?
  • Daniel Sanchez: +Jim Munro I quickly checked it out and that site had close to 4, 000 top 20 keywords ranking on Google and now it barely has 40. So something happened but I'm out for tonight. Good night everyone!
  • Sajid Ali: +Jim Munro Yes there were notification in GWMT..
  • Clement Low: +Daniel Sanchez lwhat tools do you used to check the before ranking?
  • Jon Dunn: +Sajid Ali- Sounds to me like you may have to get some of your bad links removed. When did you disavow?
  • Sajid Ali: +Jon Dunn did 2 time disavow and before 2 days it was 3rd disavow request submitted through GWMT..
  • Ash Buckles: I'm not sure of all your link building activity, and if Google notified you through WMT, there may be more I'm not aware.

    But in a quick check on your back links, it may be simply the association of your site with sites that violate DMCA. In other words, your strongest links are coming from sites talking about how to get away with torrenting files anonymously. When Google started lowering rankings for sites with a lot of DMCA requests, you may have gotten swept up in that algorithm change. Just my thoughts.
  • SeoWix: there is no sandbox in real. don't repeat your disavow request to google. look into your content distribution on your website and onpage optimization. look into your keywords density and overall structure of your website. make some internal backlinks. Always post high quality frwsh content. try to write for people not for search engines. ;
  • Daniel Sanchez: +Clement Low ;I use these tools ;+Moz ;,+Raven Tools ;, +SEMrush ;, +Ahrefs ;, +Majestic SEO ;. ;

    +Sajid Ali ;, I saw some  ;links like what +Ash Buckles ;is talking about but what type of penalty did they give you? Knowing that would help narrow down what you have to do. Was it unnatural inbound or outbound links? Site-wide or Partial? ;Did they give you any example URLs? etc.

    If you recently sent a reconsideration once again, why don't you just wait it out and see what they say?

    Oh, and did you show your work? Google wants proof of what you did e.g. ;

    Contact Name
    Contact Email Address
    Website Contact Form
    Twitter URL
    Facebook URL
    Google URL
    LinkedIn URL
    Date of 1st Contact
    Date of 2nd Contact
    Link Status
    Notes

    I checked out your back links and I picked up 49,308 links to your website (Including site-wides).

    Here is the link (Only you and I can see it, let me know if you can't):

    http://d3.gg/VPN-Site-Backlinks

    It has all the links I picked up and it includes:

    -Source URL
    -Citation Flow
    -Date
    -Anchor Text
    -If it was nofollow
    -If it was an image

    This should give you a better look at ALL you links not only the ones in webmaster tools.

    Its going to take a while to go through them so I decided to leave that to the wonderful owner of the site and webmaster, you  ;(^_^)! Check them out with things like raven tools or if you don't want to spend the time you can use ;+Link Detox ;. ;

    Also, Here's a good guide on Moz by +Lewis Sellers called "Ultimate Guide to Google Penalty Removal":  ;http://d3.gg/192QEaR

    Hope I helped.
  • Jim Munro: +10 ^^ :)
  • Jon Dunn: Bravo +Daniel Sanchez :)
  • Daniel Sanchez: Thanks, +Jon Dunn ;!
  • Daniel Sanchez: There you go +Jim Munro ;and thanks!
  • Richard Brus: Remember to think about the other side of the coin. If you've successfully found and disavowed all of your toxic backlinks then this is only stage 1.

    Stage 2 of the process is doing all of your seo again! This means getting lots of new powerful links, some social chatter and freshening up your content too. Your repair work may already be complete, but don't expect to rank again just because you cleaned up your link profile. Your toxic link profile was what was causing you to rank in the first place.

    If your confident that you've cleaned up your link profile then just focus on building new links. If I gave you 10 new relevant links with good pr you might be ranking again within the week.
  • Steven Ciccantelli: +Daniel Sanchez talk about going above and beyond.This is what sets the G+ communities apart.
  • Daniel Sanchez: +Steven Ciccantelli very much appreciated, thank you!
  • Sajid Ali: +Daniel Sanchez can you tell me what format of file need to send for disavow.. can you make a small file with link and send me as example.. I think my format is not correct GMWT is not considering this..
  • Daniel Sanchez: +Sajid Ali, Google has a really good example:

    # example.com removed most links, but missed these
    http://spam.example.com/stuff/comments.html
    http://spam.example.com/stuff/paid-links.html
    # Contacted owner of shadyseo.com on 7/1/2012 to
    # ask for link removal but got no response
    domain:shadyseo.com

    and save it as disavow.txt and upload it.

    *Key take aways from the example:
    - To leave them a comment use "#" at the beginning  ;of the line

    e.g. ;
    #I contacted the webmaster and received no
    #response ;

    -To disavow a specific link just place the link with at the beginning of the line starting with http://

    e.g. ;
    http://spam.example.com/stuff/paid-links.html

    *this link in specific will be disavowed, any other links from this domain (website) will still count. Lets say you don't want to disavow links from tumblr.com but specific links to your site that are harming your website. So you would disavow "example.tumblr.com/example" and not everything of tumblr.com

    -To disavow a whole domain start the line with "domain" and insert the link without the http:// and make sure you don't end the url with and "/" like ;"domain:example.com/"

    e.g. ;
    domain:shadyseo.com
    *This will disavow the whole domain (website) and everything coming from this site will be disavowed. ;

    heres the link to the example:

    https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2648487?hl=en

    ****Remember to submit the disavow file as a *.txt file****

    Hope this helps clarify a disavow file.
  • Sajid Ali: +Daniel Sanchez Thanks for big support... 1 more thing that Can rich snippet be a reason for penalty?
