  A fact that if I use anchor tags as internal link then whats the issue?
  I mean if I am maintaining relevancy then why its harmful even if Wikipedia is doing. ..?

  Greg Baka: There is no problem with using whatever anchor text is appropriate internally. ; The problems come from too much exact-match anchor text being used externally

  Gino Topini: +Aman Bansal I agree with +Greg Baka , to avoid penalties you should avoid getting links with over-optimized anchor texts. About internal links no problem if they are appropriate to the content you are linking to.

  When linking Internally any anchor text will do. Even when you're linking out from your site the anchor text doesn't really matter. E.g. if you're linking out to Wikipedia.
  
  The linking To you site is where you need to be careful.
  Current rule of thumb: don't use your URL or any (long tail) keyword.

  +Chris Smit - You said that a current rule of thumb was to not seek incoming links that use your URL as the anchor. That is opposite to what I have learned. Is this new? Please share any articles describing this....
