Imtiaz Ahmed Tanik: I know that Page rank value on ranking is becoming less important, Does it mean that Web 2.0 pyramid link building is also losing value?
Ryan Cramer: A couple of weeks ago I got shot down by the panel for the concept of a "link pyramid" scheme. ;They were right to do so, because it can be dangerous, and as you have stated, PR and link juice does seem to be less important as before.
What I didn't point out clearly is that, although the link pyramid strategy was new at the time, what made the strategy successful is that we focussed more time on good SEO and unique and relative content on sites. ;
Perhaps taking the advice of Matt Cutts and most ethical white hat SEOs, a focus on content will keep you from going into gray and black hat linking techniques. ;I almost never do link building anymore, and as The Algorithm continues to mature, I believe more and more value will be attributed to content and user engagement than the 20 year old popularity contest of links. (but I am a bit of a purist when it comes to SEO)
Neeraj Kumar: I think no. Web 2.0 will continue to contribute the websites with high authority backlinks. Importance of good links from relevent and genuine site has not been redundant.
Clicks and Clients, Inc.: +Imtiaz Ahmed Tanik ; Page rank value (I.e. the number of high quality links pointing to your site) isn't less important. Pyramid link building is a bad idea for any site you don't want to get hit by a manual or algorithmic penalty. Hope that helps!
