My website is not doing near as well for the very same phrases when filtered for “mobile”, any idea why?

  Ed Barnat: After listening for many months and working my way through most of the archives I am pleased to proclaim that I feel half qualified to join the group.  ;I am indeed Dumb! I can prove it. Consider the following:
  
  I have been working with several small local businesses (dentist, Hair dresser, Nail Salon, Steel fabricator) and have been making slow but steady progress as reported by webmaster tools, ranking at or near the top for several important keywords and phrases on the “web” but not doing near as well for the very same phrases when filtered for “mobile”. And I haven't the vaguest idea why.

  What do these sites look like when you see them on your mobile? Can you use them?

  All but the steel fabricator (so far) are "Responsive" and I think mobile friendly. Webmaster tools even reports the hair salon (kellyannesalon dot com) draws many more mobile visitors than web visitors. Keyword rankings and clicks, however, are much better on the web side.
