Steven Ciccantelli: I am getting annoying SEO calls from someone claiming to be with Google Data provider. Why would Google need anyone to provide them with data?
Cherisa Chapa: Scam or hoax caller. That would be my guess.
Steven Ciccantelli: +Cherisa Chapa I did not think Google would ever call anyone and verification usually a pain in the butt.
Dave Elliott: They need people to provide them with maps/reviews data and stuff like that. Not sure if this is what they are referring to or not though.
I think they also call it 'google data provider' if you are ;developing apps that use gmail or google maps or pull data in from any google service.
For you they might be trying to sell you some sort of gps/google maps tracking app for your taxi stuff or integrating flight arrival times to tell your drivers if their pick ups are going to running late or something like that.... maybe. Lots of things it could be.
The fact they invoke the name of google worries me though! it is almost certainly NOT google phoning you.
Dave Elliott: or y'know it could be umm this. ;http://www.davidmihm.com/blog/google/phone-spoofing/
