  • Mike Stetzer: Is there a particular WordPress commenting plugin that would give us the best performance and/or SEO benefit?
  • Scott Harris: One of the joys of Wordpress is you have seventeen million people doing exactly the same thing. You want to stick out of the crowd? Write your own plugin to do something none of the others do. Or hand-code your pages to do something the others leave off. Following the crowd is not going to get you noticed. For that matter, should Google decide to penalize something that is done by everyone in the crowd who uses the same plugins where are you going to be? Personally, I've done far better than most by modifying any common plugins I've used and writing my own to get something included everyone else leaves out.

PS: My method works really good in Drupal. too.
  • James Maabadi: WordPress SEO plugin is probably the best choice. It covers a lot of things that fall under SEO. But just like +Scott Harris ;said, if you don't have good content then this will really won't do much.
  • Saijo George: Try Disqus
  • Erik van Heumen: I use comments evolved http://wordpress.org/plugins/gplus-comments/really smooth!
  • Neil Pursey: We have found Disqus to be the best and really simple to setup
  • Mike Stetzer: Thanks everyone for your feedback!
