My forum comments are not showing links on GWMT.

Hi guys, I recently started posting on a forum relevant to my clients` industry and linking to blog posts that I writing for my client. On inspecting the link code it doesn`t have the rel=nofollow attribute but Google webmaster tools isn`t registering the inbound links. Any ideas why this is??

Dave Elliott: Has google indexed the page with the link on it? It might have a noindex no follow tag on it. It might simply be that google hasnt found it yet
Matt Staton: GWT tends to be slow to update
Adam Heaton: +Matt Staton, slow is an understatement, it takes absolutely ages sometimes to pick up some backlinks.
Scott Harris: My experience has been that Google picks things up really quickly. The problem is they don't let anything out in public until they are ready. All kinds of things happen in that gap in between.

Perhaps you've noticed that when there's a problem, they often start de-indexing immediately... usually well before they inform you there's a problem. When you do see the problem, you fix it immediately, then wait for them to pick up on it.
