  • kumbirai masanganise: Hi guys , what are the adverse effects of submitting the same content  ;articles to various blogs and social networks to improve rankings? for example submitting the same article to two blog sites , does google penalise this ? ;
  • Jim Munro: Hi Kumbirai. :)

    I am not an expert but I think the process of submitting articles with a link for backlinking has been devalued to the extent that there might be other more useful things you can do with your time. I'll look for a link for you to form your own opinion.
  • kumbirai masanganise: Thank you Jim , will look forward to the link ;
  • SKI USA INC: The best thing would be you post on one site and try to promote that url in order to gain traffic by utilizing social media. ;
    Secondly try to be active on the same blog by replying and commenting. ;
    And try to post on reputed blog posting sites like moz and WP. ;
    I have no idea about penalising, people used to do the same as there are several blog posting sites but now they have stopped doing so.
  • Jim Munro: Matt Cutts has done more than a few of these so it's worth searching for more. As always, when listening to Matt Cutts it's usually helpful to try to guess the motivation behind why the subject is covered in the first place rather than most of what Matt says or doesn't say. I think so anyway. :) ;

  • Peter Lunn: I agree with +Jim Munro, Matt Cutts often gives you an idea that Google tries to interpret the spirit of what you are doing. There's an excerpt in this video: ;If I quote another source, will I be penalized for duplicate content? by him (0:40 to 0:55) which may help you. My view is that your strategy with this is a risk.
