Dave Elliott: Both ahrefs and open site explorer give you limited information for free, they might do the job. But, yeah, if you own the site google webmaster tools is one of the better bets.

Simon Fryer: I'd recommend ahrefs very highly. Whilst it's a paid service you'll get a great return in terms of the time you'll save by using it. ;
