Here`s a structure question that really has me puzzled. Can anyone tell me what I`m missing here? Thank you in advance.
Looking over my website I can only assume there is a problem with its structure. I used to have a page one rank for my favoured search term, but now my blog posts are outranking the rest of my site`s "more important (services)" pages, and Google is ranking my blog posts randomly. One day I see one post as my sole entry in the rankings, the next day a completely different one. Only ever one at a time, and very rarely do I see my main site homepage in the rankings.
For reference, my blog pages each have dofollow links pointing to my services pages, my XML sitemap assigns a higher priority to my main pages than the blog and the pages are optimised in such a way that Google should know what`s important. The only thing that I can`t control is that the volume of key phrases in my blog articles is higher than my services pages. This is inevitable.
So my question is just what am I missing here? Why are my blog articles ranking so much better than other pages and why am I seeing a different page or article each time I search Google? And more importantly, what can I do to fix this?
Thank you kindly.
