  • K. S. Bisht: Hello Jim and Members,

I am again in a problem. My website sudden got down rank today. I am shocked to see it. url "couponsbag [dot] in

please analyse and let me know the reason behind it. I haven't done any work or there is no update in the Google Algorithm.
  • Dave Elliott: One thing i'd do is move the "CouponsBag.in - 100% Working Discount Coupons" para to the top of the home page, and get rid of the 100% bit, its just asking for trouble, one expired deal means you lose credibility and to be quite honest i wouldn't trust any site/product/brand that guarantees 100% of anything.
  • Jaaved Khatree: Is there a message in GWT with regards to manual action? Have you been seeing regular drops in ranking? Has traffic been gradually or even suddenly dropping for no reason? There's a lot of 301 redirects on your site to basically handle the canonical from 'without slash' to / - but seems your internal links are without the slash so that might be the reason for the large amount of 301 redirects. Also, clean up the page titles - appear to be a bit stuffed. This is just top level analysis but worth looking into - hope your site recovers!
  • K. S. Bisht: I have checked GWT there is no manual action. Early morning it was ranking fine in noon all ranking goes down.

The terms you told me are might be an issue but not exact +Jaaved Khatree +Dave Elliott these are added since a long time. And i think 301 has no impact in ranking.

  • Dave Elliott: 301 redirects do have an impact on rankings.  ;how much is open to debate ( i have heard everything from 1% link dilution up to about 14%) almost everyone agrees that it impacts it a bit.

i would always recommend canonicalisation over 301.

Although, I got told something i need to question the other month in regard to the home page.
  • Krish Purnawarman: Hey there, did a quick check. Seems that from the 800 more or less back links that the site acquired, 50% came from site wide whatstheprice.in web pages, a site that exist on the same server that has the same c class ip address. I checked the codes and they're no longer there, perhaps it was recently taken off. I also checked some content copies that you had "Transferring data through insipid devices are now a thing of the past. We live in a world of personalisation so why should all our pen drives look the same? " on http://www.couponsbag.in/printland/ seems to be the same chunck of content existing elsewhere mainly on coubus.com. Perhaps this could be a few things that can be fixed to improve rank. Oh yes, I'm also seeing Google speed is red at 57% for the homepage. Lastly, im seeing a long list of coupons for clothing, order to enhancing user experience, perhaps add to the supplementary content features such as provide, advanced search, filters, sorting, option of compare coupons, etc. .... This is just my 2 cents worth...
