Dave Elliott: That said it can indirectly help your rankings(and seo as a whole). For example more people seeing and clicking on your site means that more people are likely to link to you, which is likely to improve your organic rankings.

But as Jon is saying buying adwords won't itself improve the organic rankings of a site.
