Is there any quick way to get some traffic to a website?

  Iresh Dilan: Hey Guys,
  I started to do SEO for a client before about a month. Basically I have improved on-site SEO techniques on the website in the past month and just started to do link building.  ;But he expect immediate results when I gave him a one year in detailed plan which is based on latest SEO factors. Currently website get about 40 visits per day. Is there any way to increase it within about 2 weeks without advertising (AdWords) ?. I mean is there any quick way to get some traffic to a website ?. ;
  
  Update: I didn't promise him immediate results and have no idea to follow black hat techniques :)

  john writer: Dont give any fake promise ... Fastest result is paid listing in press and article as per seo. Via adwords u just force visitor to website.. What ur keyword ..   Harry Dance: I would agree with John, regarding the fake promises, They never help! Sorry if you have thought of these ideas already. ;
  
  Ways I would personally try and generate more visitors are:
  1.create a local listing and optimize that page
  2. Optimize the whole site, especially including sub pages. With the sub pages look to optimize long tail keywords which may already rank (or are seen to have a large amount of impressions in google analytics). These phrases are quick wins if you add them to your optimisation and can rank higher easily.
  3. Remember to submit on page changes to your webmaster tools to allow google to crawl the content quickly
   ;4. Help with, or create some social media platforms to generate more traffic
  5. Finally find a news article/ blog post which is especially topical in the industry and  ;write about it, again this can be promoted on your social media and could rank quickly to generate visitors.

  Collin Davis: As John and Harry mentioned, promising clients quickfire results is a sure way to shoot yourself in the foot.
  
  Reason with your client and let him know that SEO is a long term process and it takes time to achieve result. Give him an estimate of reasonable growth that is possible in this time frame with the kind of work you do. Clients are entitled to expect that from you.
  
  But immediate results is impossible - many clients don't have an inkling of how SEO works. Again you could resort to black hat techniques to achieve this but please don't take this as an advice.
  
  Black hat can help to artificially inflate your site traffic in a short duration but you will then need to be prepared for long term consequences.

  Iresh Dilan: +john writer ;I didn't really give any promises to him John. I gave him a one year plan which cover SEO, SMM, SEM, CRO and email marketing. Unfortunately he expects immediate results because his business is mainly depends on the website. Further I have no idea to use black hat SEO techniques. Anyway thanks for your comment :)

  Mike Hanson: Harry has the best answer. Local, video, image, knowledge graph are all ways to try to get more presence in SERPs. If you can get the site to show up in those results naturally, without spam and without low quality content, try those channels as well.
