Chevy Powell: my keyword was found on the 2nd page of Google is that good enough?
Jim Munro: I am not an expert, Chevy, but they say the second page is a good place to hide a body. :)

Apparently, top of the second page is supposed to do better than the lower positions on the first page but if you want to be competitive, you should aspire to rank on the first page.
Greg Mee: "my keyword was found on the 2nd page of Google is that good enough?"
No, but it's a good start. ;
Marty Eigner: Usually its best to try to be on the first page.
William Gomes: Depends if your keyword gets 1million searches a day then that's probably great however if it gets a few thousand a month then I'd agree with +Jim Munro (place to hide a dead body) but either way it's a start.
James Payne: I think it all depends on what the keyword is. ;If its dvd's or books and you're competing with big sites like amazon, getting onto the second page would be excellent but if its a unique keyword then the first page is the place to be.
Frank Rodríguez: +Chevy Powell ; before commenting, what is the keyword?
Chevy Powell: "resume samples for freshers" i targeted this keyword because it was less competitive and has a high monthly search ;
Frank Rodríguez: +Chevy Powell ;Seen it mate. Yes, 2º page is a bit "out of sight" because you dont standout from the rest which follow basically the same topic. Suggest you spread your content around a bit more - google plus, twitter, facebook - & get some Slideshare presentations up - all linking back to your blog.-site
Think about a Youtube presentation linking back as well. ;
With all this you should jump into page 1 in a few weeks ( 4 - 6 weeks ) ; Cheers!
William Gomes: +Chevy Powell actually given the keyword it actually can be dependant on the quality of the first page results as its the type of search where he user is likely to open loads of tabs to look for the best resume...
