  • Diego Segura: +W.E. Jonk ;+Jim Munro ;thank you for your tips. I would like to say that this website doesn´t sell weed, (it sell's seeds and other stuff for plants) Its typical shop in Spain and if you google "grow shop" in google spanish domain with spanish setup as your primary language on your browser, then, you will see there are lots of websites. Most of them are, from my point of view, ugly, old, full of errors, and with expensive prices. So i can't understand why mine ranks so badly. ;
    Today i configured URL parameters in GWT and i disallowed /? in robots.txt Currently i have more or less 1200 products and 1450 indexed pages. Anyway, even though that's a good practice, i think it wont make much improvements considering that i am using canonical URL's, and as they say here ;http://goo.gl/g38SO It's common for a site to have several pages listing the same set of products. For example, one page might display products sorted in alphabetical order, while other pages display the same products listed by price or by rating. For example:

    http://www.example.com/product.php?item=swedish-fish&trackingid=1234567&sort=alpha&sessionid=5678asfasdfasfd
    http://www.example.com/product.php?item=swedish-fish&trackingid=1234567&sort=price&sessionid=5678asfasdfasfd

    I know maybe i am asking much, but, do you have any more tips? My problem is not being able to rank for ANY keyword different from my domain name... its so anoying :( Ty again!
  • Jim Munro: Now I am really confused, Diego. :)
  • Diego Segura: +Jim Munro ;why? my english is too bad? ;
  • Jim Munro: Your English is fine, mate. Perfect. I'm just easily confused. :)
  • Edwin Jonk: My comment was on your pagination., e.g. path?=p2

    - First you block every bot in your robots.txt. That is, as far as I can see no bot is able to crawl through the pagination to find the product pages. Therefore, my guess is that most product pages will be found by crawling the Sitemap. ;
    - Second on the paginated page your rel canonical points to the first page. Meaning that is even if you don't block in the robots.txt, additional pages might not get crawled because the CMS signals to bots that page x is the same as page one.

    Since you don't allow crawling of those paginated pages no PageRank will flow through. In other words, PageRank is not flowing freely within your site.

    What Google suggest you do is to setup a view-all page or use rel next rel prev:
