  • Tony McCreath: Not sure what a frame back link is. Where do you get told this?

Whenever I hear the word frame I get concerned. They can often be a negative for seo and usability.
  • Steven Ciccantelli: +Tony McCreath from a free back link checker so many text links and 1 frame let me see if I can find more info.Of course I was hoping this would be a good thing.
  • Steven Ciccantelli: +Tony McCreath from Ahrefs I think but I have used up my freebies so I will have to try later thank you for the fast reply. When I know more I will post.
  • Tony McCreath: I'm guessing it reports that a link was found within a frame.

This really depends on what the link is. It could be some social button or feature that was embedded in a page or a poorly constructed page that uses frames for layouts.

Probably nothing you can do about it, so nothing to worry about.
  • Steven Ciccantelli: +Tony McCreath OK thanks it only shows 1 and I do have some social media buttons on my page. When I can I guess I could ask webmaster to put no follow if it is hurting site.Or maybe I just misread result.
  • Matt Hintze: It's an Iframe link; you can usually see them on prweb's press releases, like this one for Harry Potter (bottom): ;http://www.prweb.com/releases/costume-store/costume-rental/prweb10981202.htm, or this crappy one I made: buyhomepagebacklinks.com  ;I'm not sure it has much value except for diversity.
  • Steven Ciccantelli: +Matt Hintze awesome I did do a PR web release do just leave it alone then? While on subject is an image link a good way to go if I can find any? Again thank you SEO is rather capricious I think I understand and do the right thing....then it seems to change.
  • Matt Hintze: Yeah, iframes are totally fine--the usual youtube embedding.  ;It's theory, but I wouldn't do too many image links, because of their connection to advertorials.  ;But, it's not a bad idea to have some and use the alt tag.  ;I typically do rel=nofollow with them to keep it safe.
