  • W.E. Jonk: Not sure what you mean. Can you be more specific? Otherwise you might get answers like:
    Yes, title tag is useful.
    No, meta keywords aren't useful.
  • R.Gopi Krishna: +W.E. Jonk my 1st doubt : i use word press with plugin named yoast which has got focus keyword is it universal method of choosing only 1 key word for a post
  • Yvette Sonneveld: The yoast plugin helps you optimize for one keyword, but a "keyword" could contain various words like "blue squishy widgets". They have done extensive research with regards to optimizing websites and web pages. Google warns against over optimizing websites, over optimized pages risk loosing ranking. What I generally do is choose one focus keyword (combination) for a page and make sure it shows up on the locations the Yoast plugin recommends, and above that in the alt text of the first graphic on the page. In addition to that I make sure a page has plenty of text, I use various commonly used variations to the focus keyword, both in the copy and in the sub headers and alt-text for other graphics. As with everything in life, it is about striking some sort of balance.
  • mitch wilson: use google adwords to find good keywords
  • Jennifer Cowles: You should have one unique focus keyword per page. The focus keyword field evaluates the page for the keyword you chose for that page. It doesn't actually enter any metadata and is used for measurement only. The description is the unique description for that page and is written into the meta data and is what search engines use to display in serps as the summary of the page under the title. The title also gets written into metadata and shows up as the title in serps.
  • W.E. Jonk: +vishal sharma ;self-promotion is not appreciated here. Besides that your link does not provide any added value since your article does not provide any information about the "focus keyword" feature in Yoast. Therefore I removed your reply, but keep in mind that any moderator can ban you too.
