Should I be concerned about W3C Validator?

Any insights into W3 Validator? Should I try to implement the suggestions and will this help my SEO? Also would subscribing be beneficial? Thank you as usual.BTW it says I have many errors but I am unsure if this just a ploy to subscribe or a relatively legit criticism of my website.
