  • Shawn Cohen: Depending on what phase of linkbuilding you mean, I use several tools for linkbuilding. Link prospector from Citation Labs helps uncover link opportunities and Buzzstream helps keep track of contacts I've reached out to for a link.
  • John Griffith: We only recommend natural links that make sense for the user. Most 'link building' strategies are by their nature extremely questionable and easily penalized. Sometimes link building is a matter of semantics. Not all links are bad. The Internet is comprised of links. It's when you start to build links for the express purpose of SEO that most of the trouble starts.
  • Guillaume Boucher Bélanger: I actually looking for a tool to help me keep track of the links submitions. and I think Buzzsteam looks great.

    Any other ideas?
  • Brent Wildman: Good, old fashioned Excel for me.
  • tim tijssens: what's wrong with webmaster tools to see which sites link to you ? ;
  • John Griffith: +Eric Enge and +Mark Traphagen did a hangout earlier today called "Is Link Building Dead' - you might want to take a look.
  • Guillaume Boucher Bélanger: +tim tijssens webmaster can't tell you where you subscribed, when you did, to whom, etc... It can only tell which websites are pointing to yours.

    +John Griffith Link Building will never be dead. It's the same principal as to promote your business on yellowpages(when it was good) and for business to promote your services or products that they rely on. Their is only new much more improved ways to do it now a day to not get it by a google update.
