I have a client suffering from a warning when their organic and paid listings are clicked on in Google.

Hi SEO folk,

I`m in need of some serious help. I have a client suffering from a warning when their organic and paid listings are clicked on in Google.
It comes up with the message:
Warning: Visiting this site may harm your computer

The site is totally legit but may previously have been compromised (before my time). Does anybody know a solution that can help us to get this over turned and get back to normal?

Thanks in advance!
Phil. ?

  • Jim Munro: I've looked at a couple of sites like this, Phil, and if it's more than a couple of hours, you can be fairly confident that the problem still exists if you receive the message. What is the URL?
  • Nagesh shukla: Hi Phil, ;
Please see the website from spider view to determine weather it is really clean or not.
You can do it from Google Webmaster Tools, Clean the code and then Submit Reconsideration request to Google.

It had once Happened to one of my client and problem was solved in 24 hrs after reconsideration request sent to Google
  • Nagesh shukla: +Jim Munro ;Hi Jim is there any thing else You would like to suggest, for this Problem?
  • David Harry: Yea, can take time to work it's way out. This tool is also handy to see what Google thinks about the site; ;http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=Google.com  ;(just replace the domain at the end of that string)
  • Jim Munro: Thanks, +Nagesh shukla ;:)

That's a good link from David. Another diagnostic check is sucuri.net. They offer a free scan which is a useful first step and also a paid service. These guys know their onions and their fees are not high if you cannot solve it yourself.
  • John Baskerville: You can get Google's official status on the site by adding it to your Google Webmaster Tools. Google will then tell you if it has tagged the site as harmful, when they did it, why they did it, and what actions you need to take to get the status removed; they will also provide you a channel to submit your report and request a review by Google to get the status updated.
  • Phil Walsh: Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the help everyone! We managed to get this sorted, by scanning the site and found an SQL injection in the header. All sorted and showing again now.

    Thanks everyone!
  • Nagesh shukla: Thanks Phil, For Updating

The cuetimes listed on this page are functional while the live broadcast continues and also once Youtube has finished processing the public broadcast. Processing time varies between 6-24 hours. During this period the clip is viewable in full but the cuetimes cannot be relied on.
