Can anyone tell me how to do competitor analysis?

Can anyone tell me how to do competitor analysis, need to find from where they have got back links, what keywords they are targeting and getting more traffic from?

Collin Davis: If you are looking at which keywords they are ranking for, then Alexa can give you a fair idea for the ones that they are ranking for.

If you are looking at competitor analysis, use tools like Open Site Explorer, Majestic SEO and Ahrefs. Combine the backlinks with their meta tags and you should get a fair idea of their targeted keywords. And if they aren't smart enough, they may even provide keyword meta tag which you can make use of
Dave Elliott: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/ is very good for backlinks. Should be very much self explanatory.

keywords is a lot harder to work out, probably best to do it manually. I don't like any of the tools. ;Look for h1/h2 tags and anything in bold or repeated a few times in the content.

As for traffic. There is nothing reliable as far as I know. Someone will be along and say alexa(for keywords as well). These people are wrong.
Jacek Wieczorek: You can get a report from my tool - +SEOKitten ;for onsite optimization and websites they have. For backlinks majestic and opensiteexplorer.org should work best.

For backlinks and anchor text (keywords they are actually optimizing for) check opensiteexplorer + seo spyglass. Never use just one program :)

Kavita Shah: Well this site give backlinks data, but bad links are also included in that...can we get all good links and bad links data separately...as till data we manually check for bad links.
Kavita Shah: link: command give our own website links in google.....which are not backlinks i.e links from other website.....why does it shows our internal pages of sites wen give link:www.xyz.com in google
