Do hashtags have any use or power in Pinterest?

can someone please tell me if hashtags have any use or power in Pinterest? I read before that they were removed from Pinterest earlier in the year but there still seem to be blog posts advising on how to use them. Is there any point at all adding them with images when pinning? ?

Warren Chandler: I'd keep them there/add them for keyword value alone. Plus, if Pinterest adds them back one day in the future, you'll be good to go.
