Dumb SEO Questions

What Should I do if I Want to Change Domain Name?

I created a new website on a new domain for a pre-existing business.  The new domain name is better in terms of relaying what we are about but the old website on a different domain ranks for certain keywords and phrases that the new one does not (yet?).  Should I do some sort of redirect from the old website to the new or leave it as is.
