Sponsored citations.

Okay, so i place an infographic on a relevant site that has a citation back to us, it`s stated above the infographic that it`s sponsored. Will Google destroy us for this?  I`ve experimented, sometimes it does sometimes it doesn`t. Is there any clear statement??

  • SEMXE: Hi +Matt Raynes, we don't see any issue here.. just few things to remember for precaution - see if the anchor text used is your business name only.. and to be on the safe side, you can also make that incoming link a nofollow link, as you are never sure with Google algorithms. :-)
  • Matt Raynes: Thanks!
  • Rob Maas: If it is sponsored by you ; they must use nofollow
