  • Ritu Ahuja: +Jenny Gomes there is a possibility that users are viewing the current page and not navigating to other pages. Do you have internal connecting links?
  • David Rosam: How much traffic are you getting? And does this apply to every page on your site?
  • Mary Habres: May I ask anyone who can answer - what is considered a normal bounce rate?
  • Rotimi Orimoloye: +Mary Habres ;I'm not sure "normal" means anything anymore since there are many different types of sites with different kinds of offerings for diff kinds of people.  ;But most analytics professionals seem to agree that anything below 35% is a decent bounce rate.

    2 things that come to mind:

    1. check if you've properly installed the analytics tracking code on every page. If not, GA (or UA now) will assume that when the visitor left the site when it clicked on another page that didn't have the tracking code installed properly.

    2. Is it a blog? if it's a blog it could mean that visitors read one post and did not read another one. You can have a 100% bounce rate or a very high bounce rate on a blog and still be perfectly okay. Sometimes the best way to reduce the bounce rate is to have links within the text of each blog post to other blog posts on your site. And also have links to your Top 5 most popular articles, and maybe links to the 3 most recent articles as well. This could encourage visitors to click more while on your site.
  • Mary Habres: +Rotimi Orimoloye, thanks for your response.  ;I believe part of my problem is the link issue you mentioned. ;
