reseller club spam

Hi everyone, new to the community so I`m not sure if this has been answered. My analytics is being smashed by "reseller club spam" and various websites affecting my results and if you believe various blog sites my seo. It`s not the referral spam that`s the main concern, it`s the keywords.

What is the best way to fix this? Is google going to act on this?

Thanks in advance. I did google around but didn`t find it that much help. ?

  • Blade S: Do you mean that you have some bad links pointing to your site?
  • Joel C: No I've checked that. When I look at the key words resulting in visits to my site the top one right now is "reseller club spam". I read one article about it which says it'll negatively affect my seo. I can stop referrers with .htaccess.
  • Joel C: It's part of the same group of sites such as ilovevitality and blackhatworth
  • Blade S: Have you checked this? https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/webmasters/3s_K5sfIp-4

It seems you can't block them with .htaccess, you can only filter them in Analytics. I don't think they will affect your SEO, it will just manipulate your Analytics.

I think Google knows how to handle such issues, so the SEO part should be fine.
  • Maxime Senzamici: Do you mean that those are the main kw that comes out of your page (using kw analysis of your page) or the top kw searched to access your site?
  • Joel C: Yeah that's right. I've since found some good info about it. Basically, no harm is done to my site or search results as it's scripting from these sites modifying my stats in analytics. +Blade S your link was very useful. It's just annoying, which is ok.
  • Maxime Senzamici: Filter it out on you test views so that you can get good info ;)

I'm glad you found it useful. Read those suggestions carefully because they're a bit tricky, especially those regex commands.

I also found some spam referrals from darodar and a couple of other shady sites. I'm testing some things now. Did it a bit different.
