Does Social Engagement Affect Search Results?

Ammon Johns responds to the question: In your opinion, do commenting tools such as Disqus,  IntenseDebate, and Livefyre improve or lessen opportunities to build semantic value, trust or authority?

From Ammons...

... I would say all tools help, however trust and authority are developed over time, while a polished first impression may help expedite this process it can not be a substitute for it.

You cannot fake the value or originiality of your words, and this is where semantic value is derived from.

So I would say tools help and can improve opportunities, however it is important to remember they are only tools, what you say has to matter to begin with and it doesn`t matter the font that irrelevant information uses.

Do you agree with Ammon?
