  David Jones: Hi, a couple of questions regarding page and domain authority:
  
  If I have a link from a website with a high domain authority eg 70 or above but the page authority where the link is placed is very low such as 1 then does that link have any value?
  
  Which is the better for SEO, a link on the homepage of a website with DA 20-30 or a link on an inner page of another site with very low page authority but high domain authority? ;

  Blade S: The PA, where your backlink is, counts more than the DA. The DA is also important, of course. ; But if you have a backlink from a site with DA 70, I say it's a pretty good one and it has some value (if the page's topic is relevant to your niche - very important), even though the PA is low. That PA may increase in time as well.
  
  Also, there are plenty of websites which have a huge amount of posts, and I say it's pretty much impossible for all those posts to have a high PA (even though the interlinking is good). Even Forbes has PA 1 posts, but that doesn't mean a backlink from there won't be good.
  
  Usually, the best thing is to get backlinks from pages/posts with a minimum PA of 20 (some say 30). From that point, the backlinks start to have much more value.

  Julio Marquez: I think you may talk about web 2.0 sources such as wordpress,hubpages.etc, those kind of pages has Good DA from 70 to 90,but in the same time the PA of your profile page as a new user will be counted to be 1 only , so the process her is to try to get back links for that page (tier 2 backlinks),in order to improve the DA .Note that you must have a good updated content on tier 1 sources because it will be lincked directly to your web site or what ever you plan to use it for.Wish this can help
