Neeraj Kumar: Please clarify my doubts and suggest me a way to boost traffic organically...
Neeraj Kumar: I read that articles on blog or text on a webpage should have a size i.e. about 1000 words in #SEO perspectives. Is it right?
So if I ask in context of my bilingual blog having small poems in Hindi & English; should i add explanatory long articles with every poems?
Jim Munro: I am not an expert, Neeraj, but I would not pad or trim anything to fit somebody else's notion of the optimal word count.
Consider titling some of your pages with questions that might be asked by those researching your subject. Maybe this is a good idea, maybe not. :)
Kalpesh Bharankar: +Neeraj Kumar it depends, because if the content is usefull then user will certainly read it, but as per #seo perspective it is recommended to have something between 350 to 500 words, but for high authority sites it hardly matter... but u said u are having blog for poem, then it is recommended to have explanation of poem also, in this case dont get worried about words.
Matt Benson: The number of words on a page is not a significant ranking factor. A page can be almost any length these days and outrank longer pages if engagement with the shorter page is high. I see pages as short as 250 words outranking much longer ones now if the page has a lot of comments, shares, links, is on a domain with high authority, and the author rank is high.
Neeraj Kumar: Hi Jim, Alister and guys,
I think you all tried to clarify my doubts...
There were two parts of my query-
1. How to make my blog popular with organic traffic?
2. Do size of content matter? I read that a page or post should be long about 1000 words for SEO?
First part clarified. I do SEO as per my knowledge, I do run Google ad.
Second part remains unanswered.
Anyway thanks...
