Is there a relationship between the number of google + followers that you have and SEO?

  Clare Xanthos: This is probably an extremely "dumb SEO question" to SEO savvy people, but I'm very new to SEO and social media, so that's my excuse :).  ;My question is: is there a relationship between the number of google + followers that you have and SEO? In other words, if you have a huge number of google+ followers, does that have a positive impact on SEO/your google search rankings? Thanks!

  HOWEVER..
  As was eluded to above, people that follow you or are connected to you may see your page (and sometimes, face) above other pages if they are searching while signed-in to Google so there is an advantage to having a lot of (real) people following you.

  So, what you mentioned would require you to illegally steal someones password to their page...

  You will get results from people that have targeted that keyword, and are also in your circle

  Nick Fitzgerald: As they say, just in the personalization of search results. Correlative studies are indicating there is a corellation between number of +1s and rankings, but this does not mean causation. Instead it likely just means bigger brands tend to have more +1s and also happen to rank higher. Google said authorship is not a ranking factor yet a short while back. However, we all expect the authority of a linked author with a strong profile to have an effect after some end of year updates in 2013, and likely even a higher effect later. Because Google Plus is the only social network that Google can crawl through and through, and that they are biased towards their own products, you can bet that any social signals that become SEO signals will not only happen first on Google Plus, but also be more impactful.

  You can't curcle all the country, so in most cases this googl+ bonus to ranking is useless.

However of course beyond that you want to share your new content ,blog posts , videos etc etc to your g+ followers / circles to get +1's and shares that is what will really help you. Googles web properties are very powerful, use blogger and YouTube too. Hope this helps!

  The fact, is that I'm here on Google to build my brand, and in just a week, I've gained 60+ followers who are +1 ing and sharing my stuff...
  
  I deleted my old G+ account that had 600 followers.. Mainly from my email list I built from scratch.
  
  There has always been resistance around me, and I've learned to love the haters...
  
  One thing, is for certain. I love what I do online, and Google has made it easier to re-target your email list through personalized search..
  
  So, I can care less if I get 1 rockstar follower in my circle...
