Is it a good idea to use PR Web?

Hi guys. Not been on for a few weeks, hope you`re all well.

Is it ever a good idea to use PR Web? I know they were penalised recently and have a bit of stigma attached to them.

But I`ve got a PR that`s newsworthy, well written, not stuffed with keywords and contains just one (unanchored) link. Can I tell the boss that paying to use this site may actually have some value, and not just spammy links from all kinds of rubbish sites?

Thanks :-)?

  • Laura Dochtermann: PR Web is decent for the price it is and reach. If you are willing to up your budget, then I would recommend PR Newswire. We currently supplement our press releases with 1 PR Newswire and 8 PR Webs a month. We've seen great results with PR Web and have used them for years, all of the analytics is provided.
  • Gareth Marshall: Ok thanks Laura :-)
  • Girish Kapoor: Hey +Gareth Marshall ; I am also agree with +Laura Dochtermann PR Newswire is great platform. Recently i have posted 1 PR on it and i have got good result from it
  • Adam Heaton: No reason why you shouldn't, their penalty is their problem not yours, they are still a decent company but as suggested there are companies such as PR Newswire that are just as good, just make sure you don't only rely on press releases for SEO.
  • Gareth Marshall: +Girish Kapoor ;Thanks Girish :-)
  • Gareth Marshall: +Adam Heaton ;Hi Adam. That's brilliant, thank you. Don't worry, we're not doing this for SEO! We just have some good news to share and we're hoping it can help us to put our brand name out there a little bit. Cheers
  • Adam Heaton: +Gareth Marshall, that's not a problem, I'm glad you have perfectly good intentions as this is the best way for exposure and for rankings. Do look around and see if there are any other PR companies available to use, but be careful!
