How do I quickly find contact details from a website?

How do I quickly find contact details from a website?

I just came up with a link building idea for a particular client.

The client is running an international event which has been run for years. However, every year there are new event organisers using new domains and they start all over again from zero.

My idea is to find all the valuable websites that linked to these previous events and contacting the owner to inform them about the new one.

I will have to sift through 100s if not 1, 000s of domains to see which are valuable, find contact details and contact them in an appropriate way.

I`ve not done much of this sort of outreach before.

Any advice on how to do this, do it well, and quickly??

  • Ian Dixon: You will have to be careful here +Tony McCreath ;because, in a sense, you are harvesting. That in turn can lead to accusations of spamming.

However, you can find details easily using whois. Just lookup the domain name and you will get contact details for the owner.

Well you might because a lot hide behind things plus the details may not be correct or may have changed
  • Rohan Ayyar: +Tony McCreath ;The best way to find domain owners' contact details is through whois - ;http://whois.domaintools.com/

You can also try ;http://www.bulkseotools.com/bulk-whois-lookup.php for looking up 100 domains at a time.

Much domain info is now private, i.e. you can't see the names and emails of their owners. In such cases, you're simply out of luck.

+BuzzStream ;is a good tool to manage the outreach process from start to end.
  • Shawn Cohen: you can also use scrapebox to get whois data for a list of domains. here's a tutorial that might tell you how (sorry, I'm not a scrapebox expert) ;http://www.jacobking.com/ultimate-guide-to-scrapebox
