Do you reckon G are going to start renting out the number 1 organic spot soon?  It`s a long tail search but haven`t come across this before, anyone else seen it?  Checked the site page, no microformatting just an everyday HTML5 page.

  • Matt Raynes: Do you reckon G are going to start renting out the number 1 organic spot soon?  ;It's a long tail search but haven't come across this before, anyone else seen it?  ;Checked the site page, no microformatting just an everyday HTML5 page.
  • K Neeraj Kayastha: +Matt Raynes I don't think this has to do anything Google renting out organic spot... It is also a knowledge graph result of relevant list.
    Knowledge graph as I know not totally depends on markups. If it finds a list (step by step actions) it shows that in knowledge graph.
    For more I will give you revant examples... Thanks anyway to notice and note.
  • Matt Raynes: +K Neeraj Kayastha ;Pleasure, thought knowledge graph would stay over on the right, not at top of organic listings. Yeah, send over the examples. ;
  • PromozSEO: This is called Google Direct Answers and has nothing to do with renting out the organic spot.
  • K Neeraj Kayastha: Sorry +Matt Raynes... I did not know specific term. Take the term from +PromozSEO Google Direct Answers... thanks
  • Dave Elliott: Google really need to put some more effort into their direct answers. Some of them are just plain silly.!
  • Matt Raynes: +PromozSEO ;I've no belief in G renting organic spots, just thought i'd throw it in to the mix, ya know, spice it up a little. Though, the more i think about it..
  • Matt Raynes: Yes, they don't even offer a direct answer relating to anything that involves 'Direct Answers'.
  • Philippa Willitts: I saw this for a "symptoms of x" search for an article I was researching earlier today.
  • Richard Hearne: I think you have to assume that Google's search goal is no longer to get you to your final destination as quickly as possible, but instead to become the final destination. Rather than rent out that spot they'll simply keep it for themselves IMO.
  • Dave Elliott: Yeah, agree with that entirely  ;+Richard Hearne ; . Just really think google need to improve the algorithm and not show direct answers for stupid bullshit spammy commercial queries like the one in the photo.

    "what is the opening time for dominos pizza" YES for a direct answer.(and geo-locate that  ;for my nearest store & the one where i work and where i live please!) ;

    "when was Nike founded" YES

    "How to sell your house fast" REALLY? ;
  • Matt Raynes: Maybe "stupid bullshit spammy commercial queries" could be incorporated as a direct answer to all of those similar queries. ; That'd be fun :-) ; Maybe start of with 'Take your' . then end with a suitable concatenation.
  • Richard Hearne: I don't think that's a commercial or spammy query being honest.  ;If you need to sell your house quickly what would you search for?

    That's more or less what I'd enter if that was my interest.

    Google wants to answer your questions directly, and I think this is quite a good example of a direct question posed to Google.  ;Once they've answered the next step is to get an ad click.
  • Dave Elliott: do you feel able to sell your house more quickly after reading that 8 point list though? ;
  • Richard Hearne: Not particularly, but I don't feel it's overtly commercial or spammy.  ;I think the point is that for every instance of this that's going to be poor, there's likely going to be others that are good.

    I reckon they've got [how to boil an egg] down pretty well :)
  • Sanjay Upadhyay: its all about "Google Knowledge Graphs" . This is called Quick answer there is many more "Google Knowledge Graphs"
