Broken Links

I received the email with the report about my website.In this email wrote :
"the http://mydomain.com/iphone -6 broken link was found 22 page(s)"
1).....
2)....
I view pagesource my website(such as http://mydomain.com/shops), I see
....
{a href="/iphone-6"} iphone 6 {/a}

 but, I click it, webpage is appear.This link is actual not broken.

I think this report want to say that you should have name domain, such as {a href="http://mydomain.com/iphone 6"}iphone 6{/a}

Is this right ? Is this effect for rank on search enigne?

  • vo thang: I wish video on youtube have subtitle,because My english is not good.

    Thank you very much
  • Promoz SEO: Always use absolute URLs on webpages. E.g. http://www.example.com/iphone
    Relative URLs can cause troubles.
  • Dave Elliott: While +Promoz SEO ;is correct they are also wrong!

    The likes of IIS seo tools crawler thingy often sees relative URLS as broken(honestly, sort your shit out Microsoft, screaming frog doesn't!) relative URLS are  ;good practice.

    If you have more than one domain pointing at the site then relative urls are a very good idea. Also, if you ever decide to change your domain for some reason then it can save countless hours of finding and re coding all the links.

    Also, if you run a test server then they maybe be absolutely essential!

    That said ALWAYS make sure any canonical tag is absolute and your CMS may do silly things with relative URLS and javascript has problems with them as well.

    it is also worth pointing out that a lot of very good SEO people will disagree with me(yoast and cyrus shepard come up as vehemently opposed to relative urls for example, would actually be intresting to see where the panel fall on this) but I stand by my stance from a web dev(my background) point of view and an SEO point of view.
  • Promoz SEO: +Dave Elliott ;is right relative URLs are good at before-production-level-phase of site development. But here we are talking about production level and most importantly SEO. For better optimization you have to use absolute URL structure (both on link & Canonical) across the site. No way out.
    +Dave Elliott ;you, me and everyone love find and replace option of the editors. :)
  • vo thang: thank so much, Dave and Promoz SEO
