promoz seo: Sub-folder is better for a blog than a sub domain. Sub domain works as a separate site and thus needs separate optimization & marketing. Whereas sub-folder works within the main site and helps in content marketing and overall optimization.
Crawlers will see 2 different sites in case of sub domain.

there is no benefit and lose of a sub domain and sub folder. No effect over seo of main site.
