Promoz SEO: Do not use any software to build links but yes do use tools to analyze the opportunities to get a link from.
When you build links please make sure about the content relevancy of both linking and linked pages, DA & PA of the linking page, outbound link qualities and relevancy from the ;linking page.
Try to get different types of links, comment links, contextual links, social links, forum links (limited) etc. Diversify the anchor texts (more branded, less exact match).
