  • Brenda Michelin: You may want to shore up your Page Titles and Meta Descriptions, a lot are missing, and the majority are basic. Add PA or Pennsylvania to the titles/descriptions to help Google learn this is a place.
You need to add ALT descriptions to your images, especially referencing Reading, PA when appropriate.
SCHEMA: This is the best way to tell Google what you are. Your schema needs to be more precise and representative of a city / chamber of commerce.

Good, representative keywords are not represented here. None of your identified keywords referenced Reading Pennsylvania. Your #1 keyword is for: "reading eagle rental classifieds"

You need to consult an SEO specialist to do a thorough audit, with phased-in recommendations. There are a lot of things to address.

    Hope this helps.
  • Brenda Michelin: First, I would get that home page H1 to reference Pennsylvania.
And make your footer link a no-follow, sponsored.
  • Brenda Michelin: Add some social proof--maybe a feed of your instagram/facebook posts near the footer.
  • Devin Peterson: Thank you very much for your input on this.
  • Neil Cheesman: Google doesn`t `think` anything... why do you think this?
  • Devin Peterson: just going off this. If I had access to other tools like search console I would have looked there first. In addition, as I read the site content, you can get a sense of the ambiguity.
  • Neil Cheesman: Good enough reason :) agree with suggestions as above... I have had web pages that have been ranking for good search terms with VERY low CTR - I narrowed it down to a few key words or phrases on the page - removed them and over time they dropped for the incorrect term.
  • Michael Martinez: I would amend the title element to include ", PA" after "Reading" but that`s just a start. Be glad you`re not publishing a site about "Pussy, Savoie".
  • Sam Mah: Add a google map to your page. This embed can give Google a hint about the location, not books.
  • Brenda Michelin: He has one, but it needs to be more detailed.

  • Sam Mah: You should put the map on the home page, not contact us page. Typically, the home page is more significant than any other pages.
  • Sam Mah: If this is not possible, I would add this anchor text on all pages, "Get Direction to Reading, PA, " and link to Google Maps. That`s another hint to Google.
  • Devin Peterson: good tip. Thank you for that
  • Sam Mah: Devin Peterson anytime 😄
  • Don Vermeer: Read up on `Entitys` :) That way you can learn G that your site is geo-based, not book based.
  • Devin Peterson: New concept to me. Thank you
  • Tim Capper: Adding to all the input - all should be amended to read - Reading, PA

It also looks like this is part of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance - You should leverage the shit out of this : https://goo.gl/maps/zuee6Ctkcb1Bm3NZ9… See More
  • Devin Peterson: Yes, I will be managing that site as well! Thank you for your advice
  • Vice Jakomo: LOL S...E....O. think of it this way...google speeks chinese and your site is in greek , and your the translator
  • David Kutcher: Read this: https://www.confluentforms.com/.../definition...
  • Devin Peterson: Thank you. I will be incorporating some schema
  • Devin Peterson: Thank you everyone. This group is always helpful and quick to respond.
  • Donna Viersen Donahue: This is why the BERT update was so important. To better understand context of a page
