The most accurate tools to do keyword research

Which tools do you all consider is the most accurate when doing keyword research?I`m finding the ones I`m trying out all give different figures for search volume and more specifically for keyword difficulty (huge differences sometimes) - so I`m finding it hard to know what keywords to tackle first for content creation. I know they are just a tool and nothing is perfect. I am also getting to know my niche in other ways but just finding the whole process a little frustrating. Thanks for any insights

  • Dinesh Vel: No tools can give you exact volume brother, You can consider keyword planner as reference, But you need to understand those trends and volume graphs bit and rank the website and see whether you are getting the same.
  • Nick Croker: Point taken but how do you assess keyword difficulty? Just look at and analyse the first page of results upon search?
  • Dinesh Vel: Nick Croker Yes right, See the authoritativeness and quality of the top 10 ranking pages for your particular keyword.
  • Neil Cheesman: On an existing site - go to Google Search Console and see which keywords are ranking and also getting impressions - I have managed to get some good improvements on existing pages where the `page` is ranking for keywords that I wasn`t (directly) targeting. ie tweak page Title and description. Also check for rankings on Desktop and mobile. Just a thought.
  • Jason Dolman: Focus on topics and search intent, not individual keywords.

Don`t worry so much about keyword difficulty and the domain metrics of the competition. Instead, focus on using your keyword research to inform your content, website, and marketing strategies.
