Keeping the old URL after redirectio

Hi guys I redirected an old url to a new one. Problem is, the new url is not really a page but is results after a filter is applied, example price filter. Is there a way I can keep my old url permanently on google search results but being redirected to the new one?

  • Michael Martinez: Can you explain why you redirected a static URL to a search result?

Technically the search engines don`t want to index search results. They do index them (sometimes) but they would prefer not to.
  • Fiifi Otabil: Michael Martinez thanks.
  • Michael Martinez: Fiifi Otabil I wasn`t criticizing you. It will be easier for people to help you if we can understand what you`re trying to accomplish.
  • Fiifi Otabil: Michael Martinez actually you were really helpful. i had a second tough and realised i would be creating duplicate contents as well My seo rank is already terrible as is it, dont want to make it worse.

But basically I am only able to add meta data to this url https://www.niamapa.com/display-size/40-inch/ which is fine but would have loved for it to be redirected to this instead https://www.niamapa.com/product-category/television/...

First one take out out of the main category page. Second url doesn`t.
  • Philip Rinaldi: Google doesn`t want to index 301 redirects, and it also won`t want to index a filtered result. I`d advise thinking of how you can make a unique page with the information you`re trying to rank. Good luck!
  • Fiifi Otabil: Philip Rinaldi ok. Thanks.
