Andrew Macia: Yes. They will not be good backlinks, but it can be done.
Tim Capper: If you plan and launch an awesome campaign, yes its very possible.
I have had campaigns go out nationally across news, video, articles, blogs etc etc that have generated oooo`s of links a week. In fact they were so well executed they still produce links years later.
Plan and Execute the campaign properly = links for years to come
Mike Gracia: On the whole I`d say this would be a bad idea, as usually the sort of links you can get easily, en-mass, are not the sort of links you`d want. but what`s the context of the question?
In theory, it`s possible to earn GOOD links fast, but usually, that`s on the back of a LOT more work. For example, publishing a study or other piece of content that proves to be hugely popular and doing solid outreach and PR activity CAN appear lead to gaining links fast…
But it`s not that fast REALLY. In such campaigns, it may look like a lot of links were gained at once/fast, but if you take into account ideation phases, content development, outreach and amplification strategizing etc, then it actually takes quite a bit of time & effort. It’s just the outcomes may happen in a short period of time.
Backlink earning strategies that deliver both quality & volume are not easy to master, it takes practise and also a decent knowledge of both online marketing, as well as a decent knowledge of the industry you’re working in.
If you don’t mean link earning, but rather link building, not that likely. I guess citations for local businesses maybe get a few links quite fast, but I’d go after relevancy and quality, rather than quantity.
So, what’s the context of the question?
Rishi Lakhani: Yes. For large sites its not that unheard off.
Alex C Barr: Yes, it`s possible to build 100 in a day, an hour, etc but it`s not about quantity it`s about quality I`ll take 5 bad ass backlinks over 100 Mediocre ones any day
Ammon Johns: It is *POSSIBLE* to build 10000 back links in a single day without penalty, and happens with genuine news, or a big brand launch all the time. It is ONLY about the quality of the link, never the quantity
