  • Rishi Lakhani: Looks like a permalink issue
  • Leighton Ward: This has happened to me before on a client blog. I simply changed the permalink structure to a random one then changed it back. I may have signed out and signed back into wp too. It seemed to be a glitch of sorts
  • Chase Reiner: changed to /blog/%postname%/ still the same thing
  • Rishi Lakhani: Strip it to /%postname%/ and see
  • Neil Cheesman: Does a category have the same name as a page or post?
  • Neil Cheesman: what is the permalink structure?
  • Chase Reiner: Permalink structure: /blog/%category%/%postname%/
  • Neil Cheesman: Do you have a category base?
  • Chase Reiner: a what?
  • Rishi Lakhani: Template and permalink may not be playing well. Try switching to basic theme
  • Neil Cheesman: Permalink settings page bottom.. Category and tag base
  • Neil Cheesman: Personally, I would change the word `blog` as I am sure this isn`t a blog and isn`t going to be a `blog` >>> but that is just me...
  • Neil Cheesman: This shows the category.... http://novosofttissue.com/blog/injury-prevention/living-injury-free/
  • Neil Cheesman: My first thought is that you might have a post or page the same name as a category and THAT will cause problems..
  • Dan Thies: First place I would look is .htaccess
  • Neil Cheesman: The category is working for me...
  • Alan Bleiweiss: I have no clue where to begin looking, so I`ll leave it to others to see if they can help. Or you may want to reach out to Dustin Nay or Andrew Bleakley, both excellent WP specialists - no idea if either has the time to help.
  • Neil Cheesman: on my screen this was displaying okay earlier.. /blog/%category%/%postname%/ - I did wonder if a post or page had the same name as a category which would cause problems
  • Dustin Nay: For those who keep asking about the /blog/%postname%/, Chase may be using multisite in subdirectories on this, which is why /blog/ would be appended (without the option to remove). You can change that with some fancy footwork in .htaccess, but that is the default in mutlisite. To look at this, I`d really need to look under the hood -- could be something in .htaccess, some weird plugin bug, wp-config? I`ve never seen this happen before.
