Do search engines rank blog content differently?

Hi there! Do search engines perceive and rank blog content differently than other web content? I work with content websites that contain blogs as well as more substantial, heavily researched articles. The blogs are written by outside bloggers, and they tend to be of a slightly lower quality than the rest of my content. Do search engines expect that from blogs, or should I be as rigorous in my blog reviews as I am in the reviews of the rest of my content? Thanks in advance!?

You have a blog on your website for a reason, like you want to share helpful content with your audience, so keep it that way by providing them what they are looking for.
