Dumb SEO Questions

(Entry was posted by Digital Spark Marketing on this post in the Dumb SEO Questions community on Facebook, 10/15/2014).

Best practice for local search.

I have a local SEO question. I run a small business from a small Florida town that draws customers from a region of 5-6 small towns within a radius of 20 miles. To optimize my local SEO, I include a comment:

Supporting northern XXX county including the towns of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

On the bottom of each webpage.

Is this the most effective way to deal with local search in these 5-6 towns?

Other suggestions? ?

  • I M SEO GUY: Hope you have also targeted the right country in Google webmaster tools. ;Get your business listed in google maps. Use your phone number in the header and address in the footer, or both in the footer.
  • Blade S: The best way is to create one optimized page for each location. By doing this you can make use of some important on-page elements, like targeted keywords, titles, H1s, etc.

Note that the content must be unique on every page, even though it can be a bit hard since you offer the same services.
  • Digital Spark Marketing: Thanks to you both for your input.
