For local businesses there are well known review portals like Google and Yelp.

  • Micah Fisher-Kirshner: I commonly have checked what other review sites show up in the local country on Google as a way to weed that out. Can also ask locals what review sites they use.

Generic review sites like trustpilot, Stella service, etc are also potentials too.

And yes, it's always a good idea to have a page on your site for reviews too.
  • Jim Munro: RE: " ;the new G+ this community is not showing up in my community list!"

It's only randomly showing up in searches too, Tony. Please "Give Feedback" (You might have to Shift + @ as they are not currently offering feedback for communities as far as I can see)
  • Tony “Tiggerito” McCreath: Feedback sent by the option in the sidebar.
  • Dave Elliott: haven't looked at these i ay depth but i did read this article this morning. http://searchengineland.com/local-resource-50-top-international-citation-sites-236526
  • Tony “Tiggerito” McCreath: +Dave Elliott Will have to review that list.
  • Tony “Tiggerito” McCreath: Just registering on TrustPilot :-)

  • Tony “Tiggerito” McCreath: Listening to the comments made me re-check. It is in my communities list but hidden under the "Yours" tab. Just a confusing change to the interface. Still not seeing it when I search for it though.
  • Jim Munro: Thanks Tony. What do you think might be happening re SEO Questions not showing up as a community for a search on G+ for "SEO"?
  • Tony “Tiggerito” McCreath: It comes up for "seo questions" so is not completely out of it. It also shows for "seo community" but I would have expected it to be higher. It's almost like it is blocked from the specific and exact "seo" search.
  • Jim Munro: I think it might be blocked too (otherwise the SEO News community would not appear but it is there). This has happened before and reverted to normal after a little while. I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers.
  • Dave Elliott: it comes up for me in a search btw
  • Edwin Jonk: Yep we are back https://plus.google.com/s/seo/communities
  • Tony “Tiggerito” McCreath: It's back for me too. Someone must be watching!
  • Jim Munro: Gone again...
